This Control Panel device will display a simple 'gas gauge' in the menubar
to indicate the power level of the battery in a PowerBook 140 or PowerBook 170.
Sorry, but I was unable to get the discarge.charge curves for the PowerBook 100
and Macintosh Portable to add to this version. The PB140/170 use a NI-Cad battery while the PB100 and Portable use a Lead-Acid battery. The curves for each type of battery is very different.
Just drop the Control Panel into your System Folder and Reboot.
Bring up the Control Panel to change the location of the indicator. It can appear at the left or right side of the menubar. It can also be turned off.
However, when the Battery Indicator is OFF, the INIT is stil running and the indicator can be display at any time.
Have fun and I will release a version that supports all of the current crop of Apple portable machines.
